At this château wich looks alike an English manor-house in a wooded estate, you will find a warm welcome, festive cuisine and wonderfully refined decor. Lyons-la-Forêt, a delightful village with typically Norman houses, is deep in the heart of the Forêt de Lyons, the largest beech forest in Europe, and boasts the Hostellerie de la Licorne, an inn dating back to 1610, which affords a warm welcome in comfortable modern surroundings.
The village is located around the remains of the castle where Henry the first of England died. Maurice Ravel wrote some of his finest music in Le Fresne, one of the old mansions you can visit. The forest is the largest in Normandy and one of the biggest beechwood in Europe.
